If you feel stuck or overwhelmed, let me help you rediscover your direction, through finding meaning and purpose, and rekindle the life force of your brand.

I started many new endeavours in my life out of a longing for depth, understanding, and curiosity, often initiated by obstacles I observed.

  • I didn't like the cultures of the agencies where I worked, so I started my own non-hierchical creative agency which ran successfully for 7 years.
  • When gin brands were all the hype and every brand was screaming for attention I launched the most minimal gin brand inspired by japanese and scandinavian minimalist design (before "japandi" was a thing).
  • I've participated in several other business endeavors, some were very businessy (hotel interface for collecting trends and big data from cities), others were more fun (building a festival app in a week in collaboration with ID&T).
  • I worked for a year as a teacher in special education where I chose the most challenging school I could find, to truly experience the edges of what it means to hold space for kids.
  • I worked for 6 months in Child Protection Services to dive deeper into the experience I felt in my teaching job to see how boys and men influence the dynamics of their families, their communities, and society. What are their triggers, what are the symptoms, where do their actions come from, and how can I hold space for these boys and these men for them to be initiated into their maturity? Letting go of the shame, the guilt, the contol, the fear, of being seen for the beatiful but hurt human beings they all are.

In the last 20 years, I’ve worked in pretty much every sector; financial, communications, fashion, entertainment, education, governmental, creative and arts, food & beverage, social, and environmental. I've worked in new product development, branding, marketing, communications, as team lead, strategist, art director, creative director, and in a variety of design roles.
Some brands I've worked with are Nike, ING, Rabobank, KPN, Nikon, Tony's Chocolonely's, Erasmus University, Erasmus MC, Ashoka Institute.

I have helped 100+ entrepreneurs as a business-, startup-, and brand coach.

That was until 4 years ago.

I believe that these times, many of the places have become empty of soul and empty of spirit.
This is especially true in business.
Corporates primarily focus on growth for the sake of growth. For the sake of progess, without really thinking about what they want to progress towards. This becomes a soulless expansion of space. You can often see it in the engagement of their employees. There's no vision, no perspective, no shared drive to make a change or to bring something good into the world.

This mindset often drips into the mindset of new business developers too, entrepreneurs, brand strategists, business designers.
The problem in prioritizing growth and economics into your business mindset is that it distracts from the essence of your business. This mindset talks about the masculine, a portion of the spirit, the economic and superficial part of your business. It keeps your narrative and your vocabulary on the surface, which becomes the limited foundation of your branding and communication strategy. It lacks authenticity.
Authenticity is not found in strategic thinking.
Authenticity is something deeper.
This strategic, growth, mindset is not the ground of your business, it can be a part of the spirit of your business, but it's not the soil.
In order to grow your business, you first need soil, earth, nutrients...
This is where you find the soul of your business. That which gives direction, vision, and above all, purpose and meaning.
You need soul, to weave into your business mindset, and to weave into your business.
This is where an authentic culture will be nurtured. This is where the life force of your business will come from, and the aliveness you, as a business leader, will be able to put into your business. Authentically, with clarity, and with confidence.

And that is what I work with.
Authenticity, soul, spirit, and finding the life force of your business.
But only if you're able to give as much as you can take. There needs to be balance, always, and now more than ever.
So working with me I ask for just a few things of which I'd like you to create an awareness, which are, to be authentic, towards me, your work and yourself, to approach your work with integrety and an honest awareness of the eco-system your business is a part of. I'll do the same.

If this resonates with you and you're in the process of building your business, or feel you need a different perspective on certain parts of your business or your business as a whole, I can help.

If you feel stuck or overwhelmed, let me help you rediscover meaning, purpose, and rekindle a new kind of life force in your brand and in your business.

I'm incredibly curious and driven to find the depth of people, their aspirations, and the impact that their work has on others and on their communities. A lot of the research I've done is on understanding the deeper layers of cultures.
